LOW ENTROPY

highly ordered system (psychology of the mass)

FLOCK - The system by which a shoal of small fish in motion works is a fantastic example of the strength of community. Rhythmic movement in the form of an amorphous mass that the predator sees as a large aquatic creature. Members of the shoal do not collide and always keep the same distance, paying attention to the nearest individuals around them. Such a system successfully avoids attacks by forming vortices and pits around the creature, confusing it with its "magical" abilities. On this example, the human community throughout history formed different groups of people, and it continues to do so successfully today. The only difference is that the intention of such a mass is usually not in the goal in which it was formed in the animal world.

MASS

In this paragraph, I will explain the definition of this term and its importance for today's society in order to be clearer in further exposure. To begin with, the mass, as a group of individuals shaped by the same goal, needs a leader who will unite it and help it achieve its goals. Someone with a strong idea and will that, being transmitted to the mass, spreads among its members, giving it enormous strength that an individual with the same idea couldn't have. William McDual, a psychologist of the 20th century, states an interesting and extremely useful thesis for today's man - the thesis of collective inhibition in the crowd. Members of a lower level of intelligence unconsciously bring their environment to their level, thereby oppressing individual mental work, and the fear of the power with which the mass affects his lack of freedom, only further lowers his awareness of responsibility for his actions. It is an interesting fact that every mass requires some illusion just as it originally required a leader - something similar to hypnosis. And since it can't see what is a lie and what is not, it defends reality with intolerance, rejection of changes and awareness of it's great strength. Kindness is most often a form of weakness. I must emphasize this "most often" because by suggesting the masses can be led to devotion and selflessness, but these are unfortunately rare cases in history. The one who wants to influence the masses, according to Freud's words: "You should not weigh your arguments logically, you should paint with the strongest colors and always repeat the same thing." He also suggests that the crowd provides the individual with a sense of power that he would otherwise have to restrain by giving in to his impulses in individual conflicts. The sense of responsibility completely disappears under the newly acquired anonymity, while under the influence of suggestions the unconscious lights are turned on, the conscious completely ceases to guide the person and he becomes an automaton for realization the suggested ideas. The interests of the mass can, of course, also move in some brave direction, but it is certainly inevitable that some conscious, personal interest can no longer come to the fore, not even the interest of self-preservation as Freud writes in his book from 1912 - "Mass Psychology and Ego Analysis".

  • INDIVIDUAL AND COLLECTIVE

It is clear that for great discoveries, works of art and thought endeavors, the importance of the individual and his work in solitude is inevitable. By that I do not mean loneliness, but the retreat of the individual into his own worlds for the purpose of intellectual activity. However, I cannot dispute the genius of the masses in certain moments of creativity, as shown by folklore, language or folk poetry. The question is whether the individual is a creator in his own right or is he also a product of the mass. We certainly cannot rule out the effect of the environment on it, which in a deterministic view places it in the position of the consequent state of everything that preceded it. I don't want to sound like someone who advocates individualism against the collective, on the contrary, I think that community and less groupings are extremely important for every person, because without the support and love of the environment, we can hardly talk about true happiness. But members of a crowd that resembles a horde or an enraged herd are unlikely to achieve self-actualization and be socially useful.

  • ENTROPY /entrepo - Greek. "inward turn"/

I did not mention the main title throughout the entire text, because its importance is only realized after the previous paragraphs. Entropy as a measure of system disorder in this case does not refer directly to a physical concept but to its metaphorical imitation. According to the physicist Rudolf Clausius, it is seen as a measure of bound energy within a closed system. Entropy can be more closely described as - irretrievably lost energy. This would mean that everything is constantly increasing chaos and that the sooner we accept it as a part of life, paradoxically, the easier it will be for us to make peace with ourselves. In a world of uncertainty, our resistance only increases entropy. According to the aforementioned theory and laws of physics, Carl Jung and Ilya Prigogine established and explained entropy as a psychological and physical disturbance of the balance of the human organism. I don't want to go too far into science, but to look at the general situation through such a concept. If we start from the premise that we are in a constant state of increased entropy since the big bang, then an orderly system would be very useful to every community on the planet. Low entropy through a magnifying glass that says "mass" is just one example of a representation of a personal utopia. It would be an attribute of a highly ordered system, the name of which I still do not know. I see such a system precisely in the mass of the underwater flock, one of the few that actually function for the betterment of each individual. Its massiveness and strength are exclusively for the purpose of survival and progress of the community. I will leave open the question of the invention of such a social system, future or already existing, for further contemplation.
